Girlie Girl!

Our little Tessa is turning into such a "girlie" girl!!! She growing up more and more everyday. Her favorite things to do are to sing, dance, and talk! (I promise I did not teach her this, even though DJ blames me for most of it :) Her favorite singer at the moment is Lady Gaga... she goes crazy when she comes on the radio. She runs right over to the radio and turns it up and begins to dance. (We didn't even really know who Lady Gaga was until Tessa became this huge fan when we got back from Japan last year!) She has also discovered a passion for accessories. She loves to wear her necklaces and bracelets, carrying a purse, and of course can never leave home without her sunglasses :) She just loves all of it. And to tell you the truth it is so darn cute that you can't help but smile when you see her "girlie" girl attitude come out!

She thought she was so clever when she found DJ's sunglasses on the chair. When no one was looking she snuck over and grabbed his glasses. She couldn't wait to show off her cool shades :)

Since she has really started to like putting things in a purse, zipping a purse, and carrying a purse, we decided it was time to go find her a purse of her own so I didn't have to keep looking for my misplaced purse and all the things inside it. We actually looked all over for a little purse for her and had a hard time finding one. We ended up finding one at the Roxy store of all places. It is a perfect fit and Tessa thinks she is the coolest girl ever. She got to pick it out and go with Daddy to pay for it at the counter. She had the biggest smile on her face when she got to walk out of the store with her new purse. (DJ just had that look on his face saying "Oh God is it already starting?")






She even carried it on our walk to the beach!!!






Another new favorite thing she likes to do is to take pictures. She even goes and gets me my camera and says "cheeseies mama, cheeseies". And if she can't find my camera she will hold up the iphone or itouch (because she knows there are pictures on there) above her head and act like she is taking her own picture! She even has different faces for her pictures :)

She really is too much! Her personality is definitely forming and it cracks us up. She can be so silly sometimes and she knows that she is. Here she is getting ready to go for our walk. I told her to grab a snack and her water and come meet me at the door to put her shoes on. This is what met me at the door...




I can't believe how much fun it is to be a parent. These are the little things that make you forget about all the bad stuff :)

It's Getting Hotter...

Summer is coming here in Japan and what better way to stay cool than to play on our balcony :) Remember last year we had that wonderful blow up pool, which we will be breaking out sooner than later, but until then we have our fun water table...and Tessa loves it!!! Here are some pics of our last day playing on the balcony.

The Big Banana

We are lucky enough to live in a city that is right on the beach here in Japan. We spend many of our days taking walks along the beach, playing in the sand, and looking for seashells. One of our favorite places to go is a little place right on the sand called The Big Banana. This little place plays music from home, has lots of fun toys for the kids to play with, and a snack bar to get treats at. The have lots of signs and stickers in English to give it the beach feel. They even have a Santa Monica sticker! This is our little getaway when we are feeling homesick. Hanging out here gives us a little taste of home... or makes us feel like we are at some tropical island on vacation! Either way it helps :)

5 Months Old... Wow!

Brady is now 5 months old...
can you believe it?

Brady is still the smiley boy he has been since he was born. He sometimes starts to giggle so hard that he gets the hiccups... especially when you kiss his belly :) He is starting to thin out because he is getting so long (just like his Daddy)! He loves to roll onto his tummy, watch his sister's every move, and play with his baseball rattle. He started eating rice cereal this month and is doing really well with it. He continues to sleep through the night with an occasional stir here and there, and naps like a champ. He is now starting to sit in his Bumbo Chair and likes to be propped up to see what is going on around him. He likes to scoot around in circles on his back and is starting to pull his knees up. Maybe he will be an early crawler? He doesn't have any signs of teeth coming in but he sure likes to drool and chew on his hands. He definitely loves to suck on anything and everything. He has also started to become a talker. He loves to coo and gurgle to get our attention!
