Beach Day

On DJ's last off day we decide to have a family day at the beach! It is the first time we have all gone to the beach together all summer long... and to think summer is almost over :( We decided to drive to the other side of the island where the beaches are not as crowded and much more beautiful. The day ended up being beautiful and we had an amazing time! I wish we got days like this more often!

Tessa wanted to go in the water but was too scared at first... but by the time we left she was swimming by herself having an absolute blast. She loved playing in the water and shoveling the sand.










Brady had his fun in the water too! He laughed every time the water would splash him or come close. He had so much fun splashing around :)

We had so much fun we were wiped out by the end of the day :)

Daddy's Birthday

DJ just had another birthday and is so so happy to be another year older... ha ha

We got to celebrate his actual birthday with him this year. He had to practice in the morning but had most of the afternoon and night off to party with us. Tessa actually learned how to say Happy Happy "bitday" Daddy! So that was a cool present for DJ. She said it to him as soon as he walked in the door and throughout the rest of the day! She was so proud of herself. We spent the afternoon hanging out around the house and had an awesome carne asada dinner (Thanks mom and dad!) and birthday cake that night. It ended up being a fun day and we tried our best to make Daddy's day as special as we possibly could being over here.

Tessa couldn't wait to show Daddy his birthday banner and the birthday sign she colored for him!






She had so much fun doing his birthday card, and couldn't wait for him to open it. She handed it to him as soon as she got him to go over there and sit down.





We got him a few new BBQ tools for the house! But since it is pointless to ship them over here to just end up shipping it right back home we had to be a little creative. We wanted him to open something... so I used my "creative side" and drew little pictures and glued the description of each present on the back! DJ thought it was pretty funny :) And since it is hard to find a gift bag over here and almost impossible to find tissue paper, we wrapped his gift in a cooler stuffed with paper towels! Oh you gotta love Japan!






Tessa helped me decorate the cake :) Isn't it beautiful?

How We Survived...

an 11 DAY Road Trip!!! DJ's first road trip back after being on the DL was an extra long one. 11 Days... is a REALLY LONG TIME :)

We made sure to keep extra busy to help the time fly by. I have some pictures from some of the things we did.

We went to the annual Ohari Park Firework show and had a little picnic with the other families. The kids had a blast running around and watching fireworks every now and then! I don't blame them... the firework show was an hour and a half. And us adults had a fun time socializing and enjoying the surprisingly cool night!










We went to the night aquarium with the Falky's and had a really fun night. We got to see lots of fish, crabs, a huge octopus, and a dolphin show. We wanted to feed the sea lions but we got there too late. But the kids had a blast watching them swim! It was too funny hearing their little screams of excitement and laughs :)
