And The Adventure Begins...

Tessa in her bassinet they gave her on the plane.
Tessa's first time on an airplane! She did awesome!

I got my ticket and my passport and I'm ready to go!!!
Seeing Daddy for the first time in 2 months!

Our trip over here went very smoothly. Thank goodness! My in-laws traveled with Tessa and me to help me get through my first time traveling with a baby. If it wasn't for my in-laws help I think I would still be lost somewhere in Tokyo! We left LA with 8 checked suitcases and a stroller, 3 carry on suitcases, 2 carry on bags, a diaper bag, Tessa in her infant carrier, and the 3 of us. Leaving LA went well with the help of our airline. We flew for about 11 1/2 hours to Tokyo. Tessa did awesome. She only had one fussy time and it was when she wanted to eat her rice cereal and I didn't have it ready yet. Oops! Other than that she was such a good girl. The man sitting next to me was very impressed (which I'm sure when he saw us coming he was bummed out). In Tokyo we had a 1hour and 45 min lay over. Sounds like a decent amount of time but not for what we had to do before we caught our next plane out. Within that time we had to get off the airplane with all of our carry on luggage, get through customs (which was like an hour wait if we didn't cut and go to the front), get all of our checked luggage and transfer it from the international side to the domestic side, recheck our luggage on the domestic side, go through security AGAIN, get to our gate, get on a shuttle bus, and on to our airplane! And we couldn't be late or we would have missed our flight which was the last one of the night. (For those of you who remember my horrible trip out here last year and how I had to stay in Tokyo for the night) Crazy, huh? So imagine doing all of this in that amount of time. Maybe that's why we were sweating by the time we got on the plane for Fukuoka. Not to mention too... as we got to the gate we were informed that we left one of our suitcases at customs and one of us had to go get it before our flight left in 15mins. I volunteered...I swear I have never seen a Japanese woman in high heels run so fast to get me to customs and back to the plane in time. But the GOOD NEWS is that we made it and we got to Fukuoka safe and sound 2 hours later. It was so nice to see DJ. It had been 2 months since the 3 of us had been together. Way TOO long!
