Photo Shoot

Since Tessa was born, I have been taking her every month to get her pictures taken. Since she turned 6 months over here, I really wanted to get her pictures done. So we decided we would go to Babies R' Us to get them taken. It was quite an experience and a little overwhelming. When we got to the studio we knew we were in for an adventure. It was just the 3 of us, on our own, trying to communicate and understand what we needed to do. We learned very quickly, just by looking around, that they are really big on costumes. When you walk into the studio, there are costumes of all kinds and sizes everywhere you look. (For all you girls, it was like walking into a bridesmaids dress store.) It was nuts! We were told to pick out as many costumes as we would like. DJ loved it! We looked through a ton. We finally picked them out and went to take the pictures. As soon as we walked over to the photographer she grabbed Tessa out of DJ's arms, surprise surprise, and went to work. The workers would place her in the positions they wanted her in and take her and change her into her different costumes. Much different than at home! They would also dance, yell, and sing to get Tessa to smile... and they would not take the picture until she would smile and everything was perfectly positioned. I think DJ was going to freak out :) It was kinda frustrating! But in the end, the pictures turned out great and it ends up that your 1/2birthday over here is a big deal. They made a special sign for her and gave us a framed "Happy Half Birthday" picture. Even though it took about 2 hours to do, I think we are going to definitely get her 9 month pictures too! You will all just have to wait to see her costumes the next time... ha ha
